Our canine cookies are made fresh from scratch in small batches with no artificial preservatives. To keep them at their very best:

Room Temperature

Store in a cool, dry place away from heat or sunlight.
Keep each cookie sealed or stored in an airtight container.
(This is the ideal way to maintain their softest texture — though all preservative-free cookies will naturally firm a bit over time.)

Refrigeration

Refrigeration is not needed and will naturally make the cookies firmer due to moisture loss.
Some customers enjoy this texture, but it does not extend freshness.

Freezing

Cookies may be frozen for up to 3 months.
They remain completely safe and enjoyable.

What to Expect While Frozen

  • The shape and design stay beautifully intact

  • Icing and colors freeze cleanly with no smudging

  • Cookies may become slightly firmer after thawing — this is completely normal

  • No “freezer taste” when kept airtight

  • Most regain a pleasant chew after sitting at room temp for a short time

  • Even in the freezer, handmade cookies will slowly firm a little over time — totally expected for preservative-free treats

For best results:
Keep them in an airtight, heat-sealed bag and thaw at room temperature.
Avoid refrigerating after thawing, as it can increase firmness.

Because our treats are handcrafted and preservative-free, natural variations in color and texture — including gentle firming over time — are completely normal. That’s the DBB charm!
